Back home now. My parsley plant is officially dead; I’ve decided to use it all in tonight’s roast chicken dish rather than prolong its dessicated agony.
Uploaded my NYC photos to Flickr and created a new set called Recent Travel. (Check out the panoramic skyline of midtown Manhattan from Central Park’s Great Oval made with AutoStitch.) The set will be updated as and when I travel and have time to sort through the digital morass that I am all too capable of creating. There’s also a three-second video clip that didn’t make it onto Flickr (go figure). View the ferocious intensity of the fireworks display here [avi]:
The recent news is depressing. As is the stack of papers on my table, begging to be read. Somehow discontinuities in electron densities didn’t appeal as strongly as the urge to download all the photos off my camera and sort through them. And gape in morbid fascination at the news.
It’s an era where the happenings in most faraway places in the world can be instantaneously transported to within two feet or so of your eyes. Just remember to live your life, even if it’s squeezed in between bouts of engrossed screen-staring.
